Thanks to the camera phones and the advancement in technology, almost everyone has had the opportunity to take pictures using a variety of colors and tones which leads many brides into a misconception about their wedding photographs. Unfortunately, some brides think they want to have several of their wedding photos taken in blue, sepia or even a yellow tint. In some cases, this can add style to a photograph, but overdoing it will prove to be a disappointment to the bride and groom.
Keep in mind, you want to be able to display your wedding pictures and be proud of them. If you have elegant pictures of your entire wedding all done with a blue tint you soon find that those nice pictures of your grandparent make them look like they are ill. You want the color of a photograph to accent the image in the photograph not overpower it and take away from the element of the photograph.
If you want to use colors to enhance your wedding pictures you should work with your wedding photographer to find a pose that will look elegant and sophisticated with the color of your choice. Your photographer will be able to tell you which pose will be the best for using specific color palette and tones. Remember the photographer is the professional and he or she will know what will look best. Although you may be tempted to feel you know what is best for the color you have chosen, but you should listen to the photographer and trust his or her judgment.
The background needs to be taken into consideration when you are choosing the location for a photograph that is going to be taken in an alternate color. If the background is too busy it can cause the bride and groom to look flooded out instead of accenting them the way it was intended. Using color tints can be the perfect option for some very well thought out poses, but on the other hand they can ruin the perfect picture if the color is not right, the lighting, the background and so forth.
It is important that the bride and groom thoroughly think through the option of utilizing tints for their wedding photography. As you become more serious about having some of your wedding pictures done with a tint you should ask your wedding photographer if he or she has ever used tints for wedding pictures before. If he or she has, you should ask to see some of the photographs before you make your final decision.
